Scafell Pike Challenge

Mission accomplished

Despite temperatures of -12 at the summit, freezing winds and ice, our Director David Brown completed this significant physical and endurance challenge which was only made better by the stunning views across Cumbria.

Dave and his family have raised over £1000 via their JustGiving page for the Inspire Cancer Research Foundation which is a charity particularly interested in funding research projects that cover radiotherapy, surgery, drug treatments and immunotherapy.

Inspire Cancer Foundation is an incredible charity. Inspire is an independent charity, run by the UK’s leading oncologist consultants and researchers who are dedicated to the discovery of new treatments, medication and cures for cancer. Their aim is to raise awareness of the important work this charity is dedicated too and help raise funds to help families affected by cancer.

Inspire Cancer Research Foundation is particularly interested in funding research projects that cover radiotherapy, surgery, drug treatments and immunotherapy.

New surgical techniques in robotic, laparoscopy and laser surgery have all contributed to improving the side effects for cancer patients.

Drug treatments have also advanced and new chemotherapy methods target tumours only and prevent damage to normal cells.

Immunotherapy stimulates the body’s defences to fight cancer cells and improve immune system function. This is done through the support of vaccines and the body’s own immune system.

Their aim is to support research that will make a difference in these areas and help fund the science and technology that is required.

Diagnosis, surgery, treatment and recovery are all parts of the cancer chain. Research is the common link between these elements and we believe through research a cure will be found.

A big thank you to all those who donated and helped to exceed the target.

A huge well done to all involved!
